Shameem's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy raw materials, such as thread, silk, fancy sequins and pearls of various colors, for embroidery work.

Shameem's story

Shameem is a 51-year-old married woman. She has been living with her husband in the area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She is the mother of five children.

She is doing embroidery work by hand at home and financially supporting her family. She belongs to a poor family; her husband’s income is very poor so that she decided to start embroidery work at home. She learned these arts in her childhood; now she adopted it for her occupation. She enabled herself to be independent and earning sufficient income.

She requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase stock of thread, silk, and fancy sequins and pearls of various colours. She hopes that this loan will prove beneficial for her and for her family.

Shameem is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
