Poline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm implements.

Poline's story

Crop farming is something that is more of a passion for Poline than a business. She started pursuing her passion eight years ago.

Poline is a mother who has been practicing agriculture and because of the immense knowledge she has about farming, she commands a lot of respect among other farmers and is viewed as a mentor in her village.

Poline lives with her children in the Chuka area of Kenya, which is known for maize farming. Her primary income sources are tea, eggs, milk, and some personal business she engages in to supplement her meager income. She also keeps a dairy cow.

Generating an income through selling her harvest is the part of farming she enjoys most, while availability of labour is a major challenge for her.

Before joining Juhudi Kilimo, Poline could not access loans from banks because she is a woman and also a smallholder farmer. She joined Juhudi Kilimo and learnt about loan management and agribusiness. She also came to learn about Kiva.

Poline is seeking a loan to purchase farm implements. With these items, her farming activities will become much easier. This will boost her income and enable her to pay school fees for her children.

Poline waits for your kindness.
