Total loan: $500

Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan / Retail

Kousar's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy crockery and utensil items for her husband's utensil selling business.

Kousar's story

Kousar is a thirty-five year old woman and mother of three children, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is pictured with her husband.

He sells cauldrons and utensils by using his bicycle. He offers plates, dishes, cups, jars, glass, jugs, mugs, cauldrons, and buckets.

He is the sole earner; he has to afford the expenses of utility bills and household expenses, alone. The condition of his house is not up to the mark according to the living standard.

He wants to buy more inventory to sell because most of his female customers purchase utensils in large quantities for making a dowry. For this purpose, more inventory is required to cope with the sudden increase in the demand.

Kousar has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so her husband can buy utensils and crockery items and can generate more income.

Kousar is very thankful to Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan because they showed her a beam of hope to fulfill her desires.
