Arip's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase four dairy cows in order to start a dairy business.

Arip's story

Arip is a 56-year-old married man from the village of Aghtaklia. He is currently unemployed and finds it difficult to meet all of his family’s expenses. The only income he earns is when he goes on jobs abroad. His region has a high unemployment rate, so self-employment is how many residents earn a living. Arip decided to start a clothing business with a loan, but the local credit providers usually demand experience and some form of stable income from their borrowers. His credit applications were rejected several times since he is unable to satisfy the requirements.

Arip will be receiving a loan under the conditions of the joint initiative between Kiva and the Credo Startup Program that gives rural poor people the opportunity to start or reactivate businesses. He will use his loan to purchase four dairy cows so that he can begin dairy farming. Arip will be able to produce dairy products to sell locally so that he can generate his own income. The loan will be a great help since he will be able to improve his economic situation and provide a better quality of life for his family.
