Yae Htwet – 1 (B) Village Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase quality seeds, fertilizers, and to pay for labor charges.

Yae Htwet – 1 (B) Village Group's story

This village group is located in Yae Htwet village, which consists of roughly 185 households. Most of the people in the village are farmers who devote their time to plowing, cultivating, and harvesting their crops.

Pictured above are Than, Kyi, Kyi S, Hpore, and Aye. Among them, the seated person is the featured borrower of the group. His name is Than. At 29 years old Than is a very hardworking farmer who earns extra income by working as a day laborer. Cotton, sesame, and groundnuts are the main crops for Than's family.

This season, Than is going to grow pigeon peas. In fact, all the members of this group are really glad for an opportunity to receive a loan from Kiva.

Than said, “ For me, I am going to purchase quality seeds and fertilizers to enrich the soil to ensure premium bean production which could hopefully catch a good price. And I could even hire other villagers to help out with the farm work during the busy season. Thanks ahead to all the lenders.”
