Johanna Maritza's story

Johanna is 30 years old, she is married and has 3 children from the relationship aged 9, 7 and 3 years. The older children are at school. Her husband is a taxi driver and they live in Los Bajos de Montecristi, a community of humble people who make a living from working in the fields and producing handicrafts.
She is a very hardworking woman who does not give in to setbacks; indeed she tries to provide the best for her family. She has a small shop in her home selling staples. When she is not busy and her husband can help she goes out to sell shoes from a catalogue. This allows her to make some extra money to improve their financial situation.
