Kalamo Group's story

Jeanette is a merchant and the president of the community bank named “Kalamo”. A client of the microfinance institution Hekima, she is 42, married, and the mother of eight children, who are all students. For ten years, she has been a vendor of staple foods in her home on a busy avenue in town. She is going to stock up with a sack of sugar, 2 sacks of rice, and 40 liters of oil to bolster her business while providing her customers better food. She received her initial financing from her husband.

She is planning to become wholesaler and to provide schooling and food to her children. So, she thanks Hekima and its partners for supporting unbanked entrepreneurs.
