Metllail's story

Metllail is a mother and the head of her household. She is 34 years old, single and lives with her 3 children. She studied as far as eighth grade.

In 2010, her immediate family members were affected and displaced due to the violence in the el Susto neighborhood. She had to leave and abandon everything and relocate to Sogamoso, where she was taken in by one of her sister-in-laws. She managed to get a job in the city working in a family home as a housekeeper. However, she had a bad experience due to family violence, which led her to take the decision to return to Tame.

A friend offered her a job working in a shop as a sales assistant. She worked there for four years. Subsequently, her mother, recognizing the importance of becoming an entreprenuer, supported her, and Metllail was able to open her own premises. Today, she has had these premises for over a year, earning customers and aiming to increase her stock, so as to provide more variety and so increase her sales and accordingly, her income.

Metllail's dream is to see her children become professionals in order to have a decent and peaceful old age.
