Loise's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy seeds and venture into horticulture farming.

Loise's story

Meet Loise (pictured above), a smallholder farmer who lives near the town of Bungoma. Despite being young, she's very clear about what she wants from her life. For that reason, fifteen years ago she decided to begin practicing mixed farming. Maize, crop farming, sheep and dairy farming are the most popular and common economic activities for people in the Bungoma area.

Loise is seeking a loan to buy seeds and venture into horticultural farming. The mutual benefit between her horticulture farm and her dairy enterprise will help her make more profit. With a loan, the horticultural farm she will start will complement the existing dairy farm in the following ways: income from the dairy will pay for horticultural expenses as crops mature; the lump sum income from crop farming will be ploughed back into the business to buy more cows and plant more crops in the coming seasons; by-products from crop farming such as maize stalks, cobs and off-colored grains will be used as dairy feeds; and by-products from dairy, such as cow dung, will be used for bio-gas generation and manure for planting crops.

The impact of this investment is sure to have a big impact on Loise’s family’s livelihood. Make her happy by granting her a loan.
