Flor Del Campo Group's story

Nicolasa is married, has 6 children and lives in the municipality of Intibuca. All her life she has been involved in farming. She grows vegetables such as radish, broccoli, carrots, beets, coriander, potatoes, and bulk grains such as corn and beans. She sells this produce in the local market.

Nicolasa decided to apply for a loan in a group to improve her crops. She plans to invest the loan in manure, liquid fertilizer, lime, hen droppings and potato seeds to get a good crop.

Her goal is to increase her production to earn more income. The group to which she belongs is called "Flor del campo" [Field's flower] which is formed by four members who live in the same community and are engaged in growing bulk grains, potatoes and vegetables.

The group loan is for 60,000 lempiras and will be invested in the purchase of manure, liquid fertilizer, lime, hen droppings and potato seeds. In the photo we can see from the left: Nicolasa, Valerian, Maria and Francisco.
