Elmer Hector's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a solar energy system for his family home.

Elmer Hector's story

Elmer is a farmer who lives with his family in the share-land called Chilam Balam. Chilam Balam, which has 147 residents, is located in the Mexican state of Campeche.

Families who live in Chilam Balam lack basic services such as electricity, but they have worked together to improve Chilam Balam's living conditions. Like other members of the share-land, Elmer has used candles and wood as a light source for many years.

Elmer now has a basic energy solar system, and he wants to buy a new solar home system to increase the power generated. This will benefit Elmer and his family because they will be able to turn on the lights for more hours at night; they can do home labors after sunset and enjoy time together.

Also, they will be able to connect a radio device to listen to news and music. They will save almost $MXN 300 per month after finishing the payments.
