Miatta's story

This is 39-year-old Miatta. She is married with 3 children. The children are aged between 15 and 20. Two of her children are in school while living at home. Miatta deals in a business which sells red oil and palm kernel oil by the gallon in the general market. She has operated this business for 6 years and is very proud of her business when discussing it. She transports her goods by car to her business site. She started with money she received from her husband and learned the trade from her mother and has had no problems with her business. Miatta want to maintain the business so she requested a loan from BRAC Liberia. The loan will be used to buy more red oil and palm kernel oil to sell. She sells each day from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Miatta hopes to build more houses and educate her children. Miatta says "big big thanks to all lenders."
