Hatidzokereshure Group's story

Patricia knows that with a loan of $250 she can make her market table well stocked and attractive to the passer-by. She wants to add blankets, towels, comforters and fabric for making African attires. She is 44 years old and a mother of two children. She is separated from her husband and now resides with her children at her parents' house.

Patricia has run her business since 2007, operating in the central business district of Harare. She sells children and adults clothing, shoes, satchels and cosmetics. Her business has been held back by lack of working capital coupled with the bad state of the economy. When she found out about Thrive Microfinance, she formed a group with 3 other women who are also in small and thriving businesses. The group is called “Hatidzokereshure” meaning "we are not going back". This is the motto that wakes them up daily despite the current cold weather to work hard for their families.
