Flaviano's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me purchase a fire suppression system for my taco truck.
I grew up in Apatzingan, Michoacan in Mexico. It's a city very similar to Oakland where I now live. Growing up in Michoacan our family lived on a ranch called San Juan just outside the city. My parents were farmers and we have lemon groves that we sold in the local markets. When I was 22 I emigrated to the United States with three of my brothers to help support our family back home. I came to Los Angeles and I started sewing in a clothing factory. On the weekends my family played music at the local restaurants and bars to make additional money. After 7 years in Los Angeles and a couple of years in Fresno I moved to Oakland. My wife and I started recycling things and we opened a business at the local flea market. We saved our money for a couple of years and opened our first bridal shop in the late 1990's. We ended up losing that shop a few years later due to a flood and we have to start over again. We opened another shop on International Blvd in the Fruitvale that we still own and operate. Around the same time we opened up our new shop I purchased a Taco truck and worked that business while my wife worked our other business.
