Lorenzo's story

Lorenzo Lewis is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and a 2015 graduate of Arkansas Baptist College. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration from Webster University; Mr. Lewis is ranked in the top, classification rankings bolstering a GPA of 3.70. He holds memberships with the Pine Bluff Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., The 100 Greater Black Men of Little Rock, National Alliance Mental Institute, as well as Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Lorenzo is the Founder/Executive Director of L&J Empowerment; a 501c(3) community based organization. He recently began an annual Scholarship fund for students enrolled at Arkansas Baptist College (The Lorenzo Lewis Scholarship Fund), with proceeds benefiting students majoring in Behavioral Sciences. His career has centered around Public Service and assisting those in need. During his time working in youth care for Arkansas Juvenile Assessment Treatment Center, the spark for service was ignited. It was then; that he figured out his mission would be to serve others. Given his extensive work tenure in Case Management and Inpatient/Outpatient Services at Rivendell Behavioral Health Services in Benton, Arkansas, and Birchtreee Living Community, as well as Methodist Behavioral hospital, Lorenzo is highly capable of enlightening the public about the inner workings of Mental Health and available services. In addition to an wielding an arsenal of experience, Mr. Lewis has been well equipped with intensive trainings and mental health counseling to serve as a liaison and advocate for those that may suffer from a mental illness. He is a man of many talents, and he enjoys conducting workshops and forums concerning Mental Health, and Social Justice Issues that affect people abroad. He currently works for The Department of Human Services as a Medicaid Specialist.
