Thea Kan (Se To)-1 (D) Village Group's story

Thea Kan (Se To)-1 (D) Village Group is located in Mahlaing Township. People in the village rely on traditional farming and breeding livestock as their main source of income. They cultivate crops such as peanuts, sesame, cotton, groundnuts, and chili as this region is a place of rich soil, allowing these plants to thrive. Included in the picture are Myint, Khin, Khin Win, and Tet, who are the loan clients in of this Village Group.

Tet (second from the left) is a 46-year-old father living with six beloved family members (including his five young children). Through these financial services from Kiva, Tet plans to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, and manure so his crops will get more nourishment and produce an increased yield. Some part of the loan will be used to pay for labor fees to help him during the busy planting and harvesting seasons.

His goal is to grow healthy, nutritious, and productive crops so that he can earn more money to improve the living conditions of his family as well as to create a brighter future for his children.
