Kirita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for cartons of mixed goods, a small ice box, nails, shelves and a standby generator for her general store.

Kirita's story

Kirita is 21 years old and married with 1 child. She lives in a rural area outside of Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

She runs a small general store in her community selling basic food items to earn a living. She has been doing this for 1 year.

With her previous loans, she was able to start up her business. With the help of ongoing guidance and training from the SPBD staff on how to run a small business, she was able to earn good income and her business is progressing well.

Kirita is now requesting for a new loan to buy cartons of mix goods, a small ice box, shelves and a standby generator to increase her stock and to help maintain her business. She plans to use her profits to pay for her child's school fee.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
