Eliza's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start up a business by attaining a branded kiosk from where she can trade, to help serve her unbanked community.

Eliza's story

Eliza, 23 years old, is making things happen! Being an employee of a Zoona, agent Eliza took steps to be an entrepreneur herself. Completing training with Zoona, which helps agents navigate through the Zoona platform, daily record of the business, and a few tips on customer service.

Eliza started trading two weeks into March'17. Located near a well-known supermarket, her first two weeks of business had a total of 310 transactions. This is a total of cash in/cash out transactions. Eliza is also able to assist her customers to collect funds from international transfers, which are usually sent by family members in neighbouring countries to Malawi. She would like to keep up this momentum and reaches out to Kiva for assistance. A loan will help her attain a branded kiosk, helping to advertise the business better, and a float to help assist the cash in/cash out transactions as her customer base grows.

Eliza has seen the vast difference of being an employee and now the employer; a huge responsibility shift, which she loves. Eliza says once the business is stable, she would like to further her studies in Accounting. With assistance from Kiva lenders, Eliza will achieve her dreams whilst uplifting her community.
