Julie's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped fund three eight-week long youth wellness camp summer programs. They are aimed to help the welfare of today's youth by improving and building knowledge and skills in ares such as: nutrition, emotional, mental, and physical health.
I am the founder of Good Choices Holistic Wellness for youth. I grew up in a small town in Indiana, and at an early age was diagnosed with dyslexia. Growing up, learning was a daily struggle. I felt frustrated, alone, and battled low self-esteem. The only area I gained self-confidence, success, and strength was sports. Being active made me feel mentally, emotionally, and physically strong. I made it through college to become a middle school teacher. It is important to me to help the youth whose heads are hanging down low and feel defeated by the struggle of learning, emotional or mental problems. Over the years, my other passions have also lead me to become a certified family holistic wellness coach and group certified physical fitness instructor. Two years ago I decided to use my strengths and struggles to create programs to help children in need. I founded Good Choices Holistic Wellness LLC and Non profit to work with youth in communities, schools, camps, churches, and after school programs to build healthy bodies and minds for higher academic achievement in schools and students. I am excited to be working three days a week for eight weeks this summer with Americana (an immigrant and refugee community) and Safe Place (YMCA) implementing low – income youth wellness programs. I also have meet with the curriculum director and ECE director for Jefferson County Catholic School to pilot Zero Hour in the fall of 2017. Phase 3 of my business plan is to create units and workbooks to sell to schools, churches, and community centers to reach a larger area for greater impact. I have been put on this earth for a purpose and that purpose is to help others in need. This is the road I am excited and privileged to walk down.
