Las Vegas Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to restock more tailoring products from South Africa.

Las Vegas Group's story

The economic meltdown Zimbabwe experienced over the past decade and more has raised a new generation of hardworking women who have stepped up to make a difference in their families and community. These women believe that gone are the days in Zimbabwe for women to wait for their husbands’ paychecks.

Eustinah is a 40-year-old mother of three children. Her husband is a self-employed builder. She specializes in selling tailoring products such as sewing thread, elastics, buttons and frills. Eustinah stocks these items in bulk and resells them to tailors around her community. Her popularity as a well-known church member has also increased her customer base. Eustinah’s business has made it possible for her to assist her husband in meeting their household expenses. She and her friend make up the Las Vegas group; they are both based in Budiriro, Harare.

Eustinah will use her loan to restock more tailoring products. This time around, Eustinah is planning on restocking these products in bulk from South Africa. She understands that for her business to be more profitable, she needs to restock many products in bulk and push larger volumes. Her choice to restock in South Africa is justified by the fact that the she will get the products at a cheaper and affordable price as opposed to buying locally.
