Sokhan's Group's story

At the age of 47, Sokhan is a married mother of three children. She lives in a small house located in a rural village of Kandal province. Growing rice and working as a paid worker have been the sources of her family’s income for almost 20 years. Through these businesses, she is able to save about 5 USD each day for future needs.

Recently, her crop has threatening by insects, and the price of cassava has also decreased in the market while other materials’ prices have gotten higher. These are the main challenges for her business. Nonetheless, this responsible mother still keeps trying to save her business.

Sokhan is now leading a group consisting of three members in order to cover her farming expenses, such as buying seeds and fertilizer, to increase the productivity of her crop yield.
