Flor De Canela Group's story

The Flor de Canela communal bank will begin its thirteenth cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Villa Copacabana regional center. It is comprised of eight members and led by a board of directors. Orieta is the president.

The loan that they will take out will benefit all the small-business owners in Orieta's group. She currently has a business selling food. She says she learned this business on her own initiative several years ago.

This loan will be used to increase capital to purchase noodles, rice, and cooking oil wholesale. She will make her purchases from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz. After making the food she will sell it at her sales space. The way of working allows her to generate resources to support her family financially. She is single and has one child.
