A loan helped to pay for harvesting costs at her cassava farm.

Pengleab Group's story

Pengleab, 45, is married and has two children, ages 12 and 25 years old. She resides in the Kampong Cham province of Cambodia. She is a farmer and has been growing rice and cassava to earn additional income to support the family’s living, while her husband is a builder typically makes around 7 USD per day.

This group has three members and is led by Pengleab, who is pictured on the far right. She would like to use her portion of the loan to pay for harvesting costs at her cassava farm. She believes this loan will allow her to gather her harvest on time and make better profits. With the profits from this season’s harvest, she would like to expand her farm, renovate her house, and help her children get to college.
