A loan helped to buy cereals.

Jackline's story

Jackline, a woman, is a leader, a motivator and a fighter of a thousand battles, who is a clear example of perseverance.

She hails from the Nkubu area of Kenya, near the famous mount Kenya (a major tourist attraction site in Africa).

Jackline has been farming for the past five years. Through these years, she has gathered much experience and is considered among the best farmers in her village. She has been practicing mixed farming. Her primary sources of income are milk, eggs, crops and some small business ventures that help her to make ends meet.

Jackline is very passionate about farming and loves cultivating her farm. That is why, every day, she wakes up very early to go to her farm to plow.

Although she makes profits from farming, she is not comfortable and has always wanted to increase her income by selling cereals. That is why she is seeking this loan to buy cereals. Kenya's Nkubu area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Jackline could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Jackline, but she now feels relieved because Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva lenders to help hardworking women farmers like her turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing.

Jackline is grateful in advance.
