I grew up in a more rural area of South Western Pennsylvania with entrepreneurial and adventurous parents, who took my sister and I everywhere they went. Often times we would go on adventures in our motorhome, or in our boat to "find sunshine", waking up in other states for a few days. When we weren't traveling, our dinner conversation consisted of my parents business, Salem Millwork and Truss - among many other volunteer interests such as the Pirates of the Allegheny and the Allegheny River Development Corporation. For our entire lives, helping other people has been a virtue that was passed on from our parents. Although I went the route of academia until 2014, my husband and I opened The Dog Stop - Sewickley in July of that year. My academic experiences and opening The Dog Stop have informed where I am today. I am able to provide more researched and evidence-based offerings to my clients, while honoring the business side of entrepreneurship. Those experiences have help me to cultivate greater compassion for all living beings (dogs and humans alike) and I love to pass on that deeper connection to self and others through volunteer work, yoga, meditation, and wellness. Following in the footsteps of my parents, my husband and I take our three children along each adventures of our own.
