Maria Demetria's story
Mrs. Maria Demetria is 54 years old and lives in the district of La Esperanza, in the province of Trujillo, in the department of La Libertad, Perú. She belongs to the Sea and Sky II (Mar y Cielo II) Bank. The businesswoman has studied up till the third year of primary school because she lived in the country. Since she was a child, she has been working. Maria sells breakfast, set menus, and dinners in Trujillo. With her first loan of 300 nuevos soles, she started selling ceviche (marinated fish), Huancaina-style potatoes, and stuffed potatoes in her home. This loan of 800 nuevos soles will be invested in the purchase of food products, such as rice, sugar, oil, potatoes, vegetable stews, noodles, flour, etc., to make her set menus. Maria dreams of building her house and having a restaurant there.
