A loan helped to fertilize and pay for labor in the harvesting of coffee.

Lystaida's story

Lystaida lives in Centro Poblado Linderos, in the district of Tabaconas, province of San Ignacio, Peru. She is 27 years old, and has 2 children, 8 and 5 years old. She is a single mother and a determined person who on her own maintains a 1 hectare parcel of coffee. She also works as a day laborer at neighboring farms in order to support and educate her children. She sells the coffee at a local cooperative.

Listaida has managed to move forward thanks to the effort that she puts in, together with her mother, with whom she lives. Her project is to increase the production of pergamino coffee and achieve a favorable profit. Thus, she needs to maintain her coffee parcels fertilized and in favorable condition for growth.

Listaida wishes to increase the quality of coffee production and she knows that the way to do that is to manage her farm well. This will allow her to improve the quality of life for her mother, herself and her small children.
