Pyapon Ta Man – 2 (A) Village Group's story

The featured borrower, Aye (second from the left), is 46 years old and has three sons, two are school age and one is independent. Aye has a happy family life, for he is a joyful man; he loves telling jokes and people in the village are fond of him. He has been raising ducks for 15 years and learned all these skills from his parents. With this loan, he is going to buy duck feed such as dried shrimp and grains.

Many people in the village grow ducks to supplement the income from their paddy fields. As a result, the pasturing area for the ducks becomes scarce in the summer months and farmers have to spend money to purchase duck feed. Members of Pyapon Ta Man – 2 (A) village groups are: Aye Thidar, Than, Khin, Than Myint, Soe and Aye.
