Lawrence's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped build a new savory line for The DEN so that we can expand our lunch menu and our pay-it-forward pizza program, and begin to offer new hot breakfast items.

Lawrence's story

We are the team behind Craftsman and Wolves' The DEN. William Werner is Chef/Partner responsible for our overall vision, developing new menu items, and expansions. Born in New Orleans, LA, and raised in Sarasota, FL, he has worked in restaurants and hotels on the East and West Coast for the past 20 years. His goal was always to eventually own his own cafe/patisserie, and with the help of Ann, Lawrence, and his wife Sarah, the dream came true. Sarah Logan Werner is Marketing/Sales Director. Born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, family, food, and big gatherings have always been a big part of her life. She worked in hospitality for 15 years in marketing, customer service, and community outreach for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Wagstaff Worldwide before joining the CAW team. Lawrence Lai is President/Partner. Born in Taiwan, he has lived in the Bay Area since he was a teenager. His background is in fashion and apparel, co-founding his family’s knitwear manufacturing business, Lafa Knit Corp. Prior to CAW, he also cofounded Naivetea with his wife Ann Lee, to bring small-production, high-quality Taiwanese oolong teas to the U.S. Ann Lee is CFO/Partner. Born in Taiwan, she has also lived in the Bay Area since she was a teen. Her professional career has been in banking, first with General Bank, and then with Lafa Knit Corp, working with her husband and his family as treasurer.
