Las Rosas De Xenacoj Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy needles, thread, zippers, and buttons.

Las Rosas De Xenacoj Group's story

Twelve ladies who live in the department/state of Sacatepequez have named their Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Las Rosas de Xenacoj”. They have an average age of 48 years. The women are beginning their second loan cycle with Kiva. They will invest the funds in their small businesses. These include sewing traditional textiles and regular clothing, as well as the purchase/sales of basic grains, corn, & beans.

Maria is a member of the group. She is married, 47 years old, and has three children who are going to school. She sews men’s clothing, especially shirts. She is requesting a loan to buy needles, thread, zippers, and buttons. She shares that her business is a real blessing for the entire family who all admire her determination, work ethic, and vision.

Maria and her friends meet monthly with a facilitator from Friendship Bridge. After transacting business on their loans, the women participate in educational training that teaches them about the world around them and within them. Topics are centered around women, family, health, or business. “Microcredit Plus” is what Friendship Bridge calls the effective combination of loans and education.

A big round of applause to Kiva investors from all parts of the world for learning about Maria and the women in the Trust Bank & for funding their loans!
