Naomi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start running her own business as a Zoona mobile money transfer agent so that she can provide financial services to her community.

Naomi's story

Orphaned Naomi at the age of 24 is working hard to achieve her dreams. In 2015, Naomi completed her secondary schooling; this was also a time of tragedy for her as she lost her mother in a road accident. With no financial support, she moved to Lusaka where her aunt resides. She found work as a teller for a Zoona mobile money agent in order to earn an income and help with household expenses. Understanding the business better, Naomi would like to become an entrepreneur herself.

Naomi will offer money transfers and airtime within her business. She does all of her customers' transactions using a mobile phone, allowing her clients to send money around Zambia and top up airtime in an easy, quick, and safe manner. Due to Naomi's financial status she lacks the capital for her business and reaches out to Kiva. This loan will be used to secure a kiosk from which she will be able to trade and service her customers.

Naomi plans to further her studies in nursing. Once her business is profitable she would also like to assist the less fortunate, especially orphans like herself who are unable to complete their education. This is Naomi's first loan request, and she would like to thank all Kiva lenders in advance for their support and belief in her.
