A loan helped to buy new farm tools and equipment.

Catherine's story

Catherine is a small land holder farmer who is very passionate about farming. Catherine has been engaged in crops, dairy and poultry farming for not less than seven years. Her primary sources of income are maize, milk and eggs. She lives in Litein area in Kenya.

Catherine learned the art of farming from her parents who were primarily farmers. She has done remarkable work through farming; her children attend to a local private school. Catherine values farming as her core economic activity.

Catherine has been using the same farm tools and equipment repeatedly for ten years; some of her tools are worn out and she needs a loan so that she can buy new tools and replace those that are worn out.

Catherine is confident that her work will be made easier and her output will consequently increase. She is therefore appealing for a loan from Juhudi Kilimo which has partnered with Kiva lenders, to lend her some money so that she can increase her profits and pay back her loan.

She is thankful to all her lenders.
