Bala's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped Bala to purchase improved farm inputs that will increase his farm yield.

Bala's story

Bala is a hard-working, Babban Gona Organization maize farmer from Ung. Sarki village. Bala lives in a modest mud house with his family. Thanks to his hard work, he feeds his family with three well-balanced meals a day.

With a Babban Gona membership, Bala will have access to better yielding seed, fertilizer, herbicide, and other more efficient inputs that will help him optimize his farm and attain a yield of up to 3.8 metric tons per hectare.

Not only is this yield 2.3 times higher than the national average in Nigeria, it also results in an increase in income earnings, 3.5 times higher than the national average for him. Bala will use the income generated from his maize sales this season to pay his children's school fees.

Reflecting on the great experience he has had with Babban Gona so far, Bala is confident that, with Babban Gona, he will overcome poverty, securing a future for generations to come.
