Joyce's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy food covers, food warmers, cooking utensils and a large cooking pot for cooking.

Joyce's story

Joyce is 49 years old and is married with 2 children. She lives in a rural community beside Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

She runs a small food business selling cooked foods, like chicken takeaways, mince balls, cassava, and potatoes in the market to earn a living. She has been doing this for 2 years.

With her first loan, she was able to start up her business and pay her children's school fees. With the help from SPBD's ongoing training about how to run a business, she is earning a good income and her business runs perfectly.

Joyce is now requesting for a new loan to pay for cooking utensils, food warmers and covers, and a large pot for cooking. She plans to use her profits to build a new home for her family.

She joined SPBD in 2016 to gain access to financial services.
