A loan helped to purchase cedar, laurel, and guanacaste lumber for making furniture.

Samuel De Jesús's story

Samuel went to school up to the fifth grade. His life partner works taking care of the domestic chores, and his children are going to school. Samuel has been a carpenter for more than 11 years, and he learned it at a workshop that was offered by an NGO [non-governmental organization] in the community. He decided to set up his own shop since there was no other carpenter in the area. He took advantage of the opportunity. His business is close to his house, and he works from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Thanks to the previous loan from Kiva, he was able to keep his business going, and he managed to pay his debt on time. He needs another loan to purchase cedar, laurel, and guanacaste lumber for making furniture. He dreams of having more machinery to continue working.
