Yishel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped hosting our crowdfunding funding campaign through hiring a PR agency to gain further traction and launch in the market.

Yishel's story

Born in Pakistan, I grew up in Dubai, moved to Canada for higher education and now to Houston for my startup. Having taught at several special needs institutions, I have seen the difficulties faced by people around the world. Today, various disorders are bundled together and taught with a one fit for all approach. As a result the child makes little or no progress. In today's age where science has no boundaries and galaxies are being mapped, it breaks my heart to think that so many lives are being wasted to due to improper care and treatment. I found my company, DOT Inc., to address this problem. After graduating as an electrical engineer from McGill University in 2014, I took part in a hackathon event to be able to turn my idea into something substantial. Thereafter, I won several awards at conferences such as Hacking Health and Design Challenge Montreal. I received a scholarship to the Founder Institute pre-accelerator program, and successfully graduated in summer 2015 having satisfied its requirements for technical feasibility, market potential and validation and financial viability. After winning the competition at the HealthTech Venture Conference in Boston in October 2016, I moved to Houston to take part in the Texas Medical Center Accelerator to be able to launch my product to the market this year and give every child the opportunity to lead a normal life. In this day and age of technological advances, it's our attitude that becomes the limiting factor. I can't decode every mental disorder, but I can start somewhere, and DOT is my somewhere.
