Saratu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase improved farm inputs that will increase farm yield.

Saratu's story

Saratu, a Babban Gona maize farmer, is married and lives in a modest mud house with her family in Dantani village. Saratu is a meticulous farmer who has invested time and resources into her farm. Like every parent, she hopes to see her 8 children work twice as hard as she does and become successful in the future.

With her inner zeal and enthusiasm, Saratu is able to ensure that her family eats 3 square meals per day. In order for Saratu to keep improving her yield and feeding her family, she needs access to high quality inputs, such as fertilizers, herbicides, and better yielding seeds.

Luckily, as a Babban Gona member, Saratu will be provided with a full suite of the best inputs to optimize her farm and increase her yield by up to 3.8 metric tons per hectare (2 times the national average).

With increased yield and income of up to 2.8 times the national average, Saratu looks forward to using her additional income to pay her children's school fees. Saratu is a happy Babban Gona farmer. She says that her best memory as a Babban Gona member was when she harvested enough maize to feed her family. Saratu looks forward to a brighter future with Babban Gona, as she too has joined the fight against poverty.
