Sokchea's Group's story

Sokchea, aged 30 years old and living with three dependent children at Kampong Cham province. One of her children is too young to attend school and another two are in school. This hardworking mother tries to earn income by growing cassava and cashew for 7 years to feed and send her children to school. Besides farming, she sells grocery items to earn additional income. For an average income, she can earn about 7.50 USD per day and save about 4 USD each day after daily expenses.

Now, Sokchea needs capital to keep invest in her farming so she is leading a five members to request the fourth loan from VisionFund. She already paid back all the past loans on time. Because of those past loans, she was enabled to improve her living condition and support her children’s education well.

Sokchea would like to spend her loan portion to buy fertilizer and organic pesticides to grow her crop well with a high production. She hopes to upgrade her family’s lifestyle and provides her children a brighter future.
