Kha Lauk Ta Yar is a village located in Kunyangone township in Myanmar. Many villagers in this village rely on fishing and rice farming for their living. Some grow betel and other seasonal fruits or vegetables and raise livestock as a secondary source of income.

Hla-1 (first from the right) is the representative of Kha Lauk Ta Yar (A) Village Group, which includes Tun, Hla-2, Than, and Aung. Hlal-1 is a 40-year-old woman with two young children.

Hla and her husband grow rice and raise ducks for living. They have been operating a duck farm since 2007 in order to generate extra income to cover their daily expenses. They currently own 70 ducks. They plan on using the Kiva loan to purchase quality duck feed, which is essential for stable egg production.
