Manuel's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped me to remodel my storefront.
I am originally from the state of Michoacan in Mexico. I grew up in a middle class family and I am one of thirteen children. In 1971 I came to the United States for the first time. I arrived in Fresno and spent my first year working in the agricultural fields harvesting cantaloupe and lemons. I then moved to Oakland with a friend of my parents. I started working as an upholsterer in a furniture factory. A few years later I opened my own shop Espinoza's Labor Shop and ran my business successfully for 15 years. I had a large family myself and I was able to raise my kids and support them through college. I sold my business in the 1990's and for a little while I worked as a laborer for a hospital moving furniture. I saved a little bit of money and in 2007 I opened up my florist shop Daily Fresh Roses in Oakland.
