Judy's story

Dear Kiva community, Perseverance, faith, honest work, and responsibility led Judy to start practicing mixed farming ten years ago. As the key breadwinner of her family, with a husband and children, she farms a small plot of land in the green, lush hills of Thika, in the central region of Kenya. Judy decided to start mixed farming with the hope of giving her family a quality life.

Judy’s desire to get ahead is admirable because, despite her age and the obstacles she has experienced, she doesn't reduce her efforts to achieve her objective. What she sets out to do, she achieves.

Judy practices mixed farming on her farm and, through her profits, she has managed to take care of her family's needs and also give her children a good education.

Judy is seeking a loan to buy seeds and start horticulture farming on her farm. Judy wants to take advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for horticulture products in order to reap more profits.

Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hard-working women like Judy make their farming dreams come to reality, through training and loan financing.

Help this woman with dreams and goals to achieve. Come on, make a loan and make her 2017 wonderful!
