A loan helped to pay for her kids' university tuition fees.

Verdun 2 Group's story

Verdun 2 is a group consisting of five Filipino women who left their families back in the Philippines and came all the way to Lebanon to work as domestic workers. This group is borrowing from Kiva's field partner, Al Majmoua, for the sixth time now.

Rose Marie is the featured borrower of this group; she is the woman standing second from the left. She is a 51-year-old divorcee and a mother of two children. She left her children back in the Philippines and came to Lebanon to earn a living and provide her children with their basic needs. Rose Marie is requesting this group worker loan to pay for her kids' university tuition fees.

Verdun 2 members are listed in order from left to right: Jerlyn, Rose Marie, Shalimar, Nila, and Bethel. All of these hardworking women need this loan either to pay for their kids' school tuition fees or to financially support their families.
