Shiroya's Group's story

Shiroya is 38 years old and has six children. She has been a farmer for 18 years and is always thought of as a very reliable person. Even though she is the only person in the photo, Shiroya is actually representing a group of 11 farmers from Webuye District, Kenya.

Shiroya started working with One Acre Fund in 2010 because she wanted to have access to quality training and learn new farming methods. She has seen her life improve since that time, especially in the sense that she has been able to consistently feed her family. This year she decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers.

Her group will receive farming inputs for planting a total of five acres of land. In addition, some of the members in the group will be purchasing a solar light. The group will receive a total of eight solar lights as part of this loan.
