Fernando's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to establish new areas of cacao, so that he will be able to improve his family's living conditions.

Fernando's story

Fernando is 37 years old and he has a ranch of 10.53 hectares in a remote community in the north of Nicaragua, where he lives with his wife and seven children. He has four years' experience in sowing and harvesting cacao. In previous years he worked in coffee growing, but the price volatility made him move away from that option.

Due to the distance of the nearest school, his older children, with great effort, only managed to study part of their primary education. They therefore use their time learning the life of a farmer. Fernando is applying for funding to establish 0.7 hectares of cacao. This is part of a plan to increase productive areas, which he has planned for his ranch in the medium term. This will translate into better living conditions for his family.
