Awa Lamine's Group's story

This group of 17 members was started in October 2015. It is made up of women who live in the same village. They share relationships of solidarity and mutual help. They all run small businesses.

Madam Awa Lamine (standing on the far right with her hand raised) is the group's representative. She is married, 25 years old and mother of three children.

She sells cellphones and accessories that she buys from the central market and resells in her shop. The business is going well and she is good at it because she has been doing it for more than five years.

With her new loan, she plans to buy seven cellphones with accessories. She will sell them within two weeks and then re-order more.

With her profits, she wants to help her husband to provide for their family.
