Rosa Agripina's story

Las Palmas in the Montecristi canton is a privileged place due to its location. It is on the route that links Portoviejo, Manta and Guayaquil. It is a favorable place for informal business. Many people there work in informal businesses in order to provide for their families. A recent earthquake affected them greatly.

Rosa lives there. She is 23 years old and married. She and her husband have two children, ages 8 and 4. Her husband is a plumber. Rosa is a very hardworking woman who likes to fend for herself and help her husband with her income, as their expenses have increased after the earthquake. What he makes isn't enough, but thanks to her business selling Yanbal products (beauty items, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories) she is able to cover certain urgent expenses in their home.

She is very grateful because thanks to a loan she received a year ago, she was able to start her business. It now allows her to make a living. This loan is to buy clothes, shoes, perfumes and creams, among other items she sells. Her dream is to give the best to her children.
