Gladys' Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar light, and cost-efficient hybrid seed and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Gladys' Group's story

Gladys is 56 years old and has six children. She is a group leader, and is here representing her group formed by eight farmers in Matete District, Kenya.

Gladys has been farming with One Acre Fund for years now, having joined the program for the first time in 2010. This decision was largely a result of her desire to have access to quality training and to acquire new farming methods. Although she described her last harvest as good, she believes she could have an even better one this year by continuing to work alongside One Acre Fund. Gladys also decided to purchase a solar light as part of her loan, this year. She is very excited about this addition, as it will allow her to have light during dark hours and enable her children to study.

Obtaining this loan means that Gladys's Group will receive a total of 3 solar lights, and farming inputs to plant a total of 4.75 acres.
