Nekmese Saenama Latman Group's story

The Nekmese Saenama Latman group is composed of seven women with their own businesses. The group is represented by Dorthea, 47, a married woman with four children. Dorthea’s husband is an Elementary School teacher. However, Dorthea likes to do activities that can support her family financially.

She runs a business of selling various kinds of cakes at a school near her house. Dorthea plans to produce and to sell even more kinds of cakes. Dorthea is seeking a loan to be able to purchase more ingredients for cake making as well as snacks and soft-drinks.

She also hopes to save some money for her son’s tuition fees. Moreover, she will soon send one of her children to college. She is really serious in running the business for her childrens' future.

She took a chance when a friend encouraged her to join in this group with six women. Dorthea and the other six women have requested a loan of totaling IDR 14,000,000 from Kiva, through TLM. They believe the loan that they take out will benefit their businesses and other family interest.
