Jeovah Jireh 1,2 Group's story
Leticia and her group, Jeovah Jireh ("The Lord Provides"), live in a semi-urban community on the outskirts of La Romana, a major city in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic. La Romana is a hub for the textile production that supports a portion of the DR's economy. As a group of borrowers, these group members have all decided to take small loans with Esperanza International, in the hope of growing their meager incomes and creating a better future for themselves and their families. Leticia is an experienced small business owner and has a long history of success with Esperanza. She started a long time ago with a small underwear business and due to its continued growth and success, she decided to open up a 'colmado' or corner store approximately 2 years ago. She has seen her store grow and change, but she always offers Dominican staples like rice, bean, sugar, oil, and more! She currently lives in a small house on loan, but looks forward to moving into her own home where she can raise her children and take care of her family. Thank you for your consideration of Leticia and her group, Jeovah Jireh!
