but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase high-quality fertilizers and pay wages to day laborers who help on the farm.

Hman Cho – 1 (D) Village Group's story

Hman Cho - 1 (D) Village Group is located in Monywa, a town in the dry zone region of Myanmar. People in this region earn their living by farming crops and pulses. Some migrate to other towns and some raise livestock as other sources of income.

Pictured above are loan clients: Phyo, Thein, Than, Than Nu and Thein Oo. The first from the right is Thein Oo, who is 50 years old, married and is a father of three children. Thein Oo grows wheat, pulses and cucumbers on his five acre farm. With this Kiva loan, Thein Oo is going to buy more high-quality fertilizers and pay wages to the day laborers who help during the busy times when tasks are time sensitive so that he can increase yields during harvest time.

Thein Oo’s biggest goals in his life are to provide his family with financial stability through his farm income and to support his daughters' education so that they are able to become teachers.
